    Meet your guide at Point Ruston and get fitted for your bike before beginning a relaxed waterfront ride. Along the way, learn how Tacoma’s shoreline transformed from an industrial corridor into one of the city’s most scenic destinations.

  2. Ride Along Ruston Way

    Cruise along Tacoma’s waterfront path with views of Puget Sound, Mount Rainier, marinas, and public art. Your guide will share stories about Tacoma’s maritime history, working waterfront, and changing shoreline.

  3. Visit Chinese Reconciliation Park

    Pause at this important waterfront memorial honoring Tacoma’s Chinese community and reflecting on the events surrounding the expulsion of Chinese residents in the 1880s.

  4. Explore Dune Peninsula

    Ride out onto Dune Peninsula, a dramatic public space built atop the former ASARCO smelter site. Named after Frank Herbert’s Dune, the peninsula reflects Tacoma’s transformation from heavy industry to restored shoreline and public parkland.

  5. End at Owen Beach

What to Bring

Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled start time at Wheel Fun Rentals in Point Ruston to allow time for bike setup, helmet fitting, and a brief safety overview. Your guide will meet you near the rental area before the ride begins.

E-bikes are available for riders ages 16+. Guests under 16 will be provided with standard pedal bikes in accordance with local guidelines and rental policies. Families with small children may request child carriers attached to pedal bikes.

Comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes are recommended. Tours operate rain or shine, so please dress appropriately for Tacoma waterfront weather.
